                        \n\nSwadhina was founded in 1986 to wor
 k for changing the life and livelihood of women and children. Currently we
  are working in the state of Jharkhand located in the eastern region of In
 dia\, in the following areas: Women's empowerment through awareness creati
 on\, increased access to land and land based activities and income generat
 ion\, promotion of good health through sustainable organic farming. Childr
 en's overall development is sought through pre primary education centres\,
  skill training for adolescent girls\, academic educational guidance for s
 chool goers. Water plays an important role as we focus on the above activi
 ties. For women\, water is essential for their agricultural work\, sustena
 nce of family. Access to land without access to water is useless. Swadhina
  conducted water and sanitation programme for the women and adolescent gir
 ls\, creating awareness at the villages on importance of safe drinking wat
 er\, menstrual hygiene and sanitation\, safe practices for personal hygien
 e etc. Preservation of water is an important issue in Jharkhand which a dr
 ought prone dry area where agriculture is rainfed. In the past\, Swadhina 
 focussed on construction of small water boxes near the agricultural land t
 o store rain water which are usually washed away.\n\nI partecipanti regist
